GROW OP AT THE GLADSTONE HOTEL
CONCEPT SPACES / PUBLIC SPACE / URBAN INTERVENTIONS
GrowOp, the Gladstone Hotel’s annual Landscape, Urbanism and Contemporary Art exhibition, has become Toronto’s most unique annual alternative design event celebrating innovative ideas and conceptual responses to landscape design, urbanism and contemporary art. Featuring a broad range of creative practices, GrowOp presents jury-selected projects that inspire us to think and speak differently about space and form, light and colour, materiality and waste.
As cofounder (with hotelier /artist Christina Zeidler) and as inaugural curator, Victoria led a curatorial team and external jury for the shows’ three inaugural years (2013-2015). As a pay to enter exhibition, she engaged local sponsors to create the Grow Op Awards to support the selected artist’s work and to encourage and celebrate excellence.
