FARNHAM
DESIGNED GARDENS
An open graveled oval replaces a damp lawn to improve drainage and bring reflective light into a quiet woodland retreat behind an existing dining area. Entering under a threshold of Betula papyifera and ferns, the clients now enjoy a formerly unused area of their garden. A small grove of Amelanchier canadensis brings spring floral interest and combines with a shade tolerant palette of Epimedium, Polygonatum (Solomon seal), Achimillea (Lady’s mantle), Hosta, Aruncus, Hakonechloa and Dryopteris (wood fern).
